Highlights
Just a short journey from Puerto Maldonado, Kuaii Amazonas invites travelers to experience the Peruvian Amazon through a unique partnership with the Ese Eja Native Community of Infierno. More than an ecolodge, Kuaii Amazonas embodies a collaborative vision in which conservation, culture, and ecotourism come together to protect one of the most biodiverse forests on Earth.
Whether you are traveling with family, seeking authentic cultural encounters, or looking for an immersive rainforest adventure, Kuaii Amazonas offers the perfect gateway into the Amazon. Every visit supports conservation initiatives and strengthens the long-term partnership with the Ese Eja Native Community of Infierno.
Rooted in community. Guided by culture. Inspired by the forest.
Where is Kuaii Amazonas?
Your journey into the Amazon begins with a short flight to Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to Tambopata. From there, guests travel approximately one hour by road followed by a 40 minutes by a peaceful boat ride along the Tambopata River, surrounded by pristine rainforest and the sounds of nature. There are no highways, nearby towns, or urban interruptions — access to the lodge is exclusively by river, allowing the immersion into the forest to begin long before arrival.
Kuaii Amazonas offers scheduled daily departures from Puerto Maldonado for flights arriving before 13:00 hrs. On departure day, guests may book outbound flights departing after 11:30 hrs. Beyond the lodge stretches a vast corridor of intact rainforest, where community-protected lands connect seamlessly with the Rainforest. This unique location allows Kuaii Amazonas to offer not only an unforgettable rainforest experience but also a meaningful connection to conservation and community-led stewardship of the Amazon.
A gate to the Amazon. Protected together with the people who call this forest home.
